My First Blog Post

I hear Bill Clinton's looking for a Hummer (and I don't mean the gas guzzler)!
There... that's the opening icebreaker!

As I watch the news reports of President Obama's trip to Asia, I can't help but ask myself: "Does this guy have even a slight clue of what's going on around him?" We have two wars going on, mounting tensions in countries that could care less about the actions Barrack Obama takes to create his legend and legacy, a failing economy with an exponentially mounting deficit, record unemployment, domestic terrorism, etc., etc, and he's taking a tour?! And many said GWB was out of touch!? PLEASE!
I have news for you Mr. Obama; until you can get our nation's problems corrected, nothing you have to say has any weight.
With what's going on in our country, now, more than ever before in this country, is it the right time to GET INVOLVED!
A great way to stay on top of your politicians voting records is the vote-smart.org website. There are also links to politicians email addresses & contact phone and fax numbers.
If you search the internet there is a widget that counts down the remaining days until mid-term elections 2010 (currently 352 days).

Send an e-mail, call or fax with whatever your message is and in the opening & closing of the communication remind them as to how many days they have left and ask them what their plans are for future employment with the unemployment rate being so high. I let them know what I'm thinking about once every two weeks.

I always say:

> NO to sweeping healthcare reform.
> NO to cap and tax.
> NO to EFCA.
> NO to unvetted Czars.
> NO to the Copenhagen Treaty

and my new one is...
> NO to trials of terrorists on American soil!

When the politicians know that you're counting down the days like a prisoner approaching parole, you can bet they'll start to listen. TELL OUR POLITICIANS: IT'S THE ECONOMY, DUMMIES!
"Power is given by the people, not taken from them!"

In closing, the saddest thing about this administration is that it was elected by mobilizing two key groups:

1. The marginally and unemployed who will always draw resources from the productive.

2. The 18 - 22 year olds who have now saddled themselves, their children and all of us with monstrous debt.

Speaking to the second group, do yourselves and the rest of us a favor... learn the lesson or stay home in 2012.
